The Stilo by Nexus is aimed at the male market, and as such has a slightly less curvy and more “gun inspired” look. It may be St. Patrick’s Day, but that doesn’t mean there’s any way I’m going to review the O’Doyle’s Stout SIAC. I will, however, concede to discussing this lovely green jade plug from Coco de Mer. It may not hail from Cork county, but this elegant toy does share the same green hue as Irish Springs soap.

Ceramics seem to be making a definitive mark in toy design these days. Erik Scollon has been exploring this material, as well as ideas about art, objects, sex and taboos for some time. From more abstract pieces like Gang Bang Theory (top right) to more functional pieces like the collection of plugs that makes up Everyone (bottom left).

At the risk of looking like I have a shoe fetish (though I have dabbled in shoe design), I feel like I have to share the new collection from Ansley-T. These are much more than just “sexy” shoes. What could possibly make a butt plug appeal to a man more than naming it Earl and referring to it in the masculine? Plating it in 18K gold and selling it with matching cuff links of course. Perhaps known more for his “90’s body piercing” inspired steel and crystal jewelry (including a studded barbell), Julian Snelling should be acknowledged for his more artistic and daring pieces as well. I should have to provide no further explanation than this riding crop/plug combo. It is a masterfully perverse piece, indicative of the territory his mind treads.

These ceramic toys from Bashan Road Designs manage to marry playfulness and Americana-kitch with a twist more appealing than either has alone. Each handmade toys is capped with a cork (and soon optional rubber) stopper which, in an inventive twist, is meant to plug the toy so that you can fill them with some warm or icy water!
